Original Idea
During our trip to engfest, we created a basic model of building that's main focus was on being an environmentally friendly building that reduces the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. we constructed our model out of cardboard and play dough, to get an idea of what it would look like. after we took part in this activity, one of our teachers suggested we entered our idea into the talent 2030 competition. however, after we decided that we wanted to incorporate refugee and homeless housing alongside our carbon neutral buildings.
What is our project about?
WE are thinking about limited space in cities and how we can maximise it. We also want to minimise the amount of water usage, heating, lighting and CO2 management.

After deciding to focus our proposed building design on building designs on being built for those in need of housing such as the homeless and refugees, whilst it's main aspects focusing on being sustainable, low of greenhouse gas emissions and carbon neutral. the images above show a simple for the reclaimed shipping containers and how we will adapt them to make them environmentally friendly. WE used Sketch Up to make 3D models of what the rooms of the building would be like.
The image labeled "Dining Room" is a communal dinning room. The next image labeled "Bedrooms" is what the two ideas for the bedrooms could look like. The one on the left is a family bedroom with a double bed and a bunkbed with a single room next door with a single bed. the picture to the right is four single bedrooms for one person. The nest image labelled "shower block" I what are plan for the Showers will look like. it would also be the same layout for the toilets. it is split in half with a male and female side and a baby changer/baby bath if needed.
